A&O Berlin Mitte Hostel

The welcome was not always pleasant, the rooms of 8 are not cleaned regularly. The beds had no light or socket for charging, and the shared kitchen was very poorly equipped and dirty. No one told us, reception didn't give us the cards for the kitchen so we couldn't go in.

This hostel was very big and nice. However, the kitchen was small, difficult to access (you always had to queue at reception to retrieve a card to open it, then queue again to return it), cleaning was very rare and there was no had nothing to clean ourselves (for example a large puddle of oil remained on the ground for three days without being cleaned), and there was nothing (except the plates) to cook, the rest being brought by other guests of the hostel.

Hostel well located especially if you are young and you plan to party, very close to the wall. The bathrooms left a little to be desired and the sheets and towels are not included must be paid separately.

We were a group of 13 people, we spent great time at the hostel. The common areas are really cool, there is also playground for kids, and a large terrasse outside! The price was good, however you have to rent the bed sheets, and they were not mentioned on the website (third party website). Same things, I thought that the price per night was 11.45€, but when I booked the price was at 14.50€... Only one night was at this price.

Arriving at the hostel we came across rude staff in cases that refused to speak English. They tried a kind of bribe, in exchange for sheets we should write a good review about them. If you want a good evaluation, treat your customers better, don't try to bribe, be receptive and clean the areas your guests use! We went to use the kitchen and it was horrible. There were no cabinets, dish rack, dishcloth, the trash overflowed; not a week away, the filthy floor, there were only two pans to use and the hostel has capacity for many guests. I will definitely not be returning to this hostel; I spent 12 days in Germany, the days I was in this hostel were the worst and most expensive!

I was in a room of 8, the beds are good and there are 2 USB sockets per bed, European sockets everywhere in the room. That's the only good thing I saw ... the bathroom was filthy, no cleaning apparently ... I still stayed 3 days without the trash being emptied or anything. .. The elevator is run down ... it's a shame since the hostel has potential ... the staff is nice!

Nice hostel and in a convenient location. The first flaw is that in the presentation was reported a shared kitchen that was actually not available for use because of work in progress but this was not reported. The staff was however very available to provide for heating our dinner. The second that the elevator does not reach the top floor. Also, there are no personal safes in which to leave valuables, but a safe was available at the reception.

Clean room, no problem of neighborhood. We had a pleasant stay and thank the various professionals who participated in our welcome.

Está bastante cerca de una línea de metro (U8) y también de una estación de tren. A una paradad de metro hay un Lidl, andando es media hora aproximadamente. El albergue en si es acogedor y bastante cómodo, tiene zonas para el ocio muy espaciosas y con enchufes para cargar móviles, ordenadores u otros dispositivos. El personal es antento y simpático, y las habitaciones compartidas (al menos la de 6) son bastante espaciosas, aunque el baño con la ducha es pequeñito.

Super Place

We were two groups of girls and our stay was very good! The reception of the staff was very good! The accommodation is simple but efficient, clean. The mattresses are comfortable. It is about a 20 min walk from Alexander Platz, and there is a station also just a 5 min walk away, so very well placed. Also, there are many techno club in the area (in the street and / or 10 min walk). Only downside, you have to pay to leave your luggage.

Very clean and quiet, copious breakfast

The rooms and bathrooms were clean. Hallways were well-lit and the whole building was maintained. The hostel is very near the Ostbanhof.

Better than expected in comparison with the price, there's everything we need

Clean, nice atmophere, family friendly but still good for younger solo travellers. Staff were very helpful, especially in speaking English with me.

the location is amazing if you're interest in Berlin nightlife, it is also very near the underground. The rooms are very clean. It also has a lovely bar.

It's a big hostel with good location, friendly staff and tidy rooms! I stayed in a 4 bed room with private bathroom. We also had free wifi all the time and TV with SKY TV! Even the elevator was working all the time!

Very helpful and pleasant staff, clean rooms and bedding, easily accessible safe for valuables, good sized storage lockers in the rooms.

Very basic hostel in a run down part of Berlin with few amenities - no laundry, small lounge, no self catering kitchen and a elevator that only only goes to the 7th floor (I was staying on the 8th) Building was uninteresting but rooms where large and warm and clean (when the cleaner came)

If you are interesting in partying a lot this Hostel would be a quite god place to stay. A lot of people lived there and it seemed to be easy to meet other people.

The hostel in itself is great - loads of rooms gives you an opportunity to book late for many people and still have rooms next to each other, Group 4 rooms were a good size.
