BVJ Opera-Montmartre Hostel

The door of the room closed very badly, and with great noise, difficult to close it behind you at each entry / exit, we slept with the door of the room open! Only one key per room: this system is in any case dilapidated and hardly functional for dormitories. No space in the room to lock our things. Room poorly heated, it was cold. The hostel only provides a blanket (no down), which is not enough in winter in their poorly heated rooms. The towels are not loaned, they are on sale only (5 € for a small towel), and worse, there is no soap, neither in the showers, nor on the sinks. The welcome is friendly, but it does not compensate for the under-equipment and the lack of heating in the hostel ...

I arrived at the hostel on Tuesday at 10:30 pm to leave on Wednesday at 5:30 am, personalized and very pleasant welcome by the young woman at the counter. Everything is fine! Cleanliness, home, setting and comfort of the bed ... Small flats: No CB, lack bulb on the second floor, and slightly noisy when there is a group of teenagers ...

Friendly and helpful staff

The hostel is in a very charming neighborhood (9th arrondissement). Perfect place for those who want to see beautiful buildings (Moulin Rouge, Garnier Palace, St. Trinity ....). As soon as you enter the building, you are charmed by the "royal" decoration of the hall. The outdoor courtyard has nothing to envy the hall since it also has its charm with its wall decorations. A delicious breakfast, no frills and enough proposal to please everyone. As for the rooms, they are fun. personally, I did not feel crowded with other people; but it may displease those who are used to large rooms. In addition, the number of shots is really limited. I just have a little problem with the toilet I found too small (it's my claustrophobic side talking) and the fact that there is no locker for our things.

I stole my credit card and my tickets. The person at the reception did not look shocked, it seemed almost normal.

Very nice place but provide windows with double glazing, because nighttime nuisances can spoil the stay.

Beds are of cheap quality, not suitable for a heavy person(more than 100kg). Only burning hot water is available in the showers. Rest is awesome.

After a phone call to find out if we could be in a room of 5 (reason: equipment that costs an arm and under surveillance) we are assured that yes! but revenge! very upset that we have been through a reseller not only do they admit selling the cheaper seats (which is totally wrong) and they do what they want despite their word on the phones! not friendly and frankly not traders one of the manager takes people from high! the person at the reception does what she can! The sanitary .... not the fault of the cleaning lady who is adorable and does not skimp but the cleanliness remains only 5 min! Not enough cold showers and showers during the two days as the hostel was full.

This hostel is ideally placed to visit Paris, moreover, when you get there the entrance of high standing makes us believe in a chic and classy place ... Unfortunately after pushing the door of the sanitary and showers we quickly disillusioned. After opening the toilets of the ground floor (without light ...) we go upstairs to look for cleaner: nothing better to do with unhygienic toilets. And it's the same disappointment to take a shower: dirt unimaginable (while cleaning would be done twice a day depending on the hostel's reception) and a wooden door so gnawed and old that we wonder how this can be standard. Unfortunately unhealthy is the thing that will stay in the hostel despite an ideal situation and an attractive price. And you should also know that there are no secure lockers in the dormitories to leave our belongings and luggage is not locked.

Very nice hostel. located near the station Saint Lazare, the casino of Paris and the Olympia. Staff very welcoming and very kind. Affordable price for a student.

The place very well placed, the building terrific, the staff really very nice but the structure is managed by someone who has no idea of the requirements of the traveler: No locked cabinet o with combination to save stuff ... necessary ; no microwaves: tired people need to heat some things to eat; No sofas in the structure; The cleanliness of the rooms ok but in the baths insufficient Such a structure managed with intelligence could become some things of great simply with small improvements

Perfect hostel for a person looking for a good value for money. The location is ideal because close to a metro stop but also close to Pigalle, Montmartre on foot ... On the other hand, the staff is very unwelcoming. It is noted that towels are provided but for that you have to buy them (5euros!). No locker system or other and the rooms are not closed. Note for travelers wishing to prepare to eat: impossible to cook since there is no kitchen or even microwave available. Everything is still ok especially for a short stay on a budget.

One of the worse hostels I have been in - and I have been in a few: The biggest issue is safety: - There are no lockers - There is just one key per room. So you are supposed to lock the room if you are the last person and leave the key at reception. Not a bad idea in theory but it does not work in practice. My room was open without anyone in it 50% of the times that I came home in the evening. Combined with the lack of lockers this is just terrible. Cleanliness: - The showers and toilets were quite dirty and were regularly out of toilet paper Staff: - The person at the reception was friendly - The rest of the staff, especially at breakfast, less so Breakfast was supposed to go until 9.30 but staff started cleaning up at 9 and you could not get food after that. The location is quite convenient though.

Problem of very old showers almost repulsive despite a great effort of cleanliness on the part of the staff. No washbasin outside the rooms which does not facilitate the respect of sleep of other people in the dormitory. Sleeping not cozy enough and not enough power outlets. No locker that can close luggage open to any wind.

This place is beautiful from the outside but completely dilapidated inside. The showers are in a catastrophic state. My bag was in the hallway and so was all my stuff. Odors of toilets everywhere in the showers and in the corridors to the rooms. Torn and dirty sheets. A shabby towel and bath pack charged 5 euros EACH. Creaky doors as not allowed and rude people as possible. This place is a real rat hole besides the aberration to be expensive. It is a scandal.

The place is very good, very easy by metro. The people of the reception are very kind. The cleanliness was not great, the toilet was dirty and without toilet seat, and the showers not too clean either.

L'accueil est très correct. Je déplore toutefois l'impossibilité de régler par CB. Les sanitaires sont usagés mais propres. J'avais malheureusement oublié qu'il faut se prémunir contre les punaises de lit. Je dis malheureusement car le lit que j'ai occupé était habité par ces bestioles et j'y suis allergique. le veilleur de nuit m'a trouvé un autre lit au milieu de la nuit, mais le collègue de jour ne semblait pas avoir eu l'information que je lui ai pourtant rappelé, ce qui fait que je crains que le lit infesté que j'ai occupé n'ai pas été traité!

Wonderful accommodation and most wonderful reception I had a good day

The rooms are bright, the showers and the toilet always perfect. The breakfast is plentiful and there is a discreet choice, very recommended!

The staff is very friendly, located in beautiful building, with light, clean, cozy patio, good breakfast.

Hostel well located near the metro. Staff at the top! All super nice and helpful, you can not ask for better! Small defect, the insulation, indeed, we hear the noise of the surrounding rooms, especially when it comes to a class discovery. Otherwise spacious room.

Friendly staff but the sinks are in the rooms, not at all practical to prepare for people who get up early while roommates sleep. No place to put your things, no place to charge your tel .. Plus there is no atmosphere while it is supposed to be a hostel .. positive point the breakfast included in the price.

The rooms were not well cleaned, no security for our business, someone was sleeping in the bed we had done before leaving ... we had to sleep two to one bed ... A rat who walks In the common room, no security for our business ... for 25euros per person at night as well take a hotel. No atmosphere.

I had booked in a dorm and got a single room, for the same price. Hearty breakfast. I recommend except for disabled people because there is a staircase and no lift.

Clean, kind, comfortable and safe. Located near to hot spot areas in Paris where travelers can reach easily by subway or bus. Sound from bath room door when it closes is the scariest thing in the hostel. If you stay in a room near to the bath room, you may could not get good sleep. They must give attention to this problem. You also should pay 2 euro for 24 h usage of Wi-Fi. Breakfast was tasty, fresh and good.

The setting and the situation are ideal. I was charmed and so welcomed. I had a point of reference. Of course the showers are very damaged but it did not bother me too much. I really have an excellent memory of my stay at home. Thanks again!

I highly recommend this hostel, the value for money is excellent.

Very well placed (two steps from the metro and reasonably close to the hypercentre) rooms are large and well equipped (washbasins, lots of catches ...) the lobby is sublime, only downside, cleanliness and equipment showers. For a few nights it is perfect and the quality of services (breakfast included) is really good for the price!

This hostel is great. Well located by Opera and it is very safe.

If you have important belongings that you would like to leave at the hostel when you visit Paris, you have to know that there is no storage locker. Unable to secure our stuff. The hostel offers a wifi ... which you have to pay for. We are in 2017, it is a scandal to make travelers to pay for internet. Also, when I got to the hostel, the wifi did not work, so no internet at all. Other than that, the hostel is quite nice. The breakfast in the morning is very good. The showers are OK. The rooms are large and nice although there is plenty of bed.

The 2 computers with INTERNET (made by RHAPSODY) are not usable - WIFI is shit and the coffee machine does not work neither the drinks dispenser !!! Toilets and showers are too small. Next time I will change hostel !!
