Very good hostel, the pool on the rooftop is accessible to all and allows you to meet people and make friends for the holidays. The room is very nice and the beds comfortable, the staff very pleasant and very understanding of our problems. Be careful though, it is not perfectly well explained on this site, but the price indicated is not the price you will pay on site. Obviously taxes are not included, and the amount you pay to make the reservation is not touched by the hotel. I therefore advise you to go directly through the hotel's website, I think it will be easier :)

The staff was super friendly, and always here to help me when I needed. The hotel’s location is good (Downtown LA), but consider taking an Uber if you want to see iconic spots such as Hollywood, Venice Beach, etc… The hotel’s cafe is also a good place for breakfast. Overall, I had a great stay at Freehand and recommend this place if you’re traveling on a budget!

No kitchen. No common space but the bar. Sick roommates. No fridges or microwaves in the room. Small bathrooms and lack of mirrors. Poor lights. Hard pillows. Lack of personal space. We had to buy our locks. When in upper bed, the stairs can be dangerous.
