This hostel was absolutely terrible. The place is dirty, wasn't really safe, even though I'm a male, no young people were sleeping there, only elder ones, some homeless people as well. Gamla Stan is a lovely place where there are plenty of nice hostels, avoid going to this one as much as possible. The staff was quiet rude as well, not helpful since I had problems to chek-in. They seemed to be very cold, which is not representative of Swedish people !
Great hostel but terrible roomates that night.

Great hostel but terrible roomates that night.
many people visibly sleep there year-round, few young people
Very well placed in the center, however the “youth” side was absent, we were two young women and we did not feel safe. The “underground” side may have its charm but was actually very oppressive: the ceiling was very low, and there were 6 of us in a very small room ... the photos on the site have nothing to do with the reality of the place
The hostel (despite its very good location) is in abysmal condition. Most people live there for long periods of time, the average age is around 40 years old and it is practically only men (I could see only one woman having also an advanced age). It is by no means a youth hostel for me. For a girl traveling alone it is simply impossible to stay there. The hostel is in a cellar, there are no windows in most of the rooms, the smells are horrible and with the heat .. As for the showers: blood on the curtains, used razors lying around, mouths water evacuation which are sharp (beware of the one who puts his foot on it ..), and so on. I advise anyone traveling to Stockholm to set foot in this place.
