Safestay London Elephant & Castle

Despite the confirmation by email from an employee that I was expected with my children, I was refused access on arrival because the room had not been privatized, I lost 2 hours to find another accommodation solution, certainly I was reimbursed but I also lost the reservation fees as well as the bank charges due to the exchange. A solution was found for one night but I had to manage to find accommodation for the rest of our stay. In addition, the night at the hostel was eventful, a lot of noise at the start of the night due to the passage in the corridor xvazer the room has very poor sound insulation then we were woken up by the fire alarm at 4am which remained on for more than an hour forcing us to leave our room so much the noise was infernal. This problem also concerned the other rooms. I would like to point out that there was no fire and the staff did not know how to turn off the alarm, a lot of inconveniences for just one night which does not allow us to recommend this hostel. It was a very bad experience for us.

I’ve been there twice and will go back, it’s very well placed, clean and not very expensive. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms pleasant and the staff very friendly. Only regret no way to cook or store your own food but hey it is not the most important because there are shops and restaurants everywhere and you can always eat in the entrance hall. I recommend 100% !!

We stayed with our 2 grandchildren. Everything went as planned. Room 4 corresponded to our expectations. The competent, jovial staff gave us the advice we expected. Roughly nothing wrong, on the contrary.

I have just spent a few days and was very well received and accompanied throughout my stay. A bus stop is right in front. I really enjoyed being able to rest at night in the living room. Nice place

Dormitory for 6 people with shower and toilet clean and with the minimum comfort but practical. On the other hand, noise in the corridor throughout the night due to a group of children and young people visibly poorly supervised and despite our complaint at the reception. The living rooms much smaller in reality than in the photos and often full. While the wifi does not go into the rooms ..

The hostel is clean and the beds are comfortable. The curtains allow to have a little privacy which is nice. The weak points: few showers and a noisy area. Remember to take earplugs if you want to sleep. Good value for breakfast.

I came 4 years ago, with two classes of 10 year olds. I came back with my husband and my daughters and I have no regrets. Very good value for money, clean and pleasant. Happy to have found someone in the staff who spoke French. Too bad we have seen the last day you were eating at night.

I like the individual washrooms and the huge lockers under the beds. The curtains on each bed also gave you privacy and helped to block out the overhead light.

3rd time I went back to this hostel, no doubt one of best hostel in London. each best has your own curtain so you get more privacy compare to ordinary hostels.

I really enjoyed the design of the place, clean-ish, I think I would preferred if they mopped the floor in the dorms everyday. Showers and bathrooms were clean. It seems like a sketchy area, but I was not hassled. Easy access to the airport. Total time takes about an hour if you don't take the express train. Take Heathrow to Piccadilly Circus, change to the bakerloo line that is going towards elephant and castle. Just a 5 min walk to Elephant and Castle underground, there's also a bus stop right outside as well. Staff was friendly, for the most part!

Good location, only a few minutes walk from Elephant and Castle underground station and bus stops outside which go to most of the city. Hostel is really nice inside, very clean and trendy looking. Lots of space to chill out comfortably. Rooms were clean and quiet. Bathrooms were really clean and lots of space. Was given a voucher for a free drink when I arrived too!

Very helpfull and friendly staff. The bed got curtains, so if the light is on it didn't disturb you during your sleep. It is a very good location, 5 minutes walk from the underground station. There are many restaurants/snack bar's around the hostel.

The place is extremely nice for a hostel and is more of a mix of hostel/hotel. The only difference between this and a 4 star hotel are the 8 person rooms. The staff was helpful and friendly and they have a complementary breakfast and bar/lounge area downstairs. In the 8 person rooms, each bed has a curtain for privacy. It was very close to the metro, which can take you anywhere in London.
