MEININGER Hotel Amsterdam Amstel

This hostel is not like other hostels. We were pleasantly surprised, and we felt like we were in a real hotel. Everything was clean. When we were not there, someone came to clean. The common areas are very pleasant to spend time in. There is also a kitchen accessible to all, it remains a little small at peak times when everyone wants to eat. It is very well located right next to the train station. Excellent impression of this hostel. And at a very affordable price. I recommend it!

Hotel in an excellent position for traveling by public transport to the center of Amsterdam; shared rooms large enough to just sleep in. quiet atmosphere. Big flaw for our trip with 9 people: small and poorly equipped common kitchen for a hotel that hosts so many people!!

Well located. The rooms are good. The big problem is the kitchen: it is ridiculously small compared to the number of people in the hostel.

We spent 4 nights at the Meininger Hotel in Amsterdam and we were delighted to see the good atmosphere there, the clean and warm rooms, the welcoming and caring staff... Thanks to this we had a great stay during which we We were able to enjoy this beautiful city.

Spacious room, quiet establishment, close to the center and opposite the metro. Bathroom very good, everything was clean, code locker very good. Welcoming and friendly reception. I recommend !

I am just a little disappointed to have reserved 4 beds and that we are separated into 2 and 2 and in view of the other occupants we could be put in the same room from the start which is extremely unfortunate

The hostel is obviously a lot more expensive than most hostels, perhaps not in Amsterdam though. The hotel is right outside one of the larger train stations, so its's convenient to travel around.

Super well equipped hostel, top comfort, super friendly and very attentive receptionists. Our stay at the Meninger Hotel was top notch. In addition, located close to Amstelstation, the hostel is very well served by transport (to the station, to the airport, to anywhere in the city) Note that this district remains far from the city center, it is long to reach it on foot.

We had booked a room for 6 at the price of a hostel but totally corresponds to a hotel room. The room is clean, including the beds, the bathroom and the toilet. The beds are comfy. It is easy to get to the city center with the metro and tram right next door. There are always people there, but in any case we were bothered during the nights by the noise of the neighbors. I totally recommend this hostel!

Nice stay in this hostel. Clean room, good bedding and nice duvet.

Reassuring, friendly and very well located hostel (Intercity + metro 2min walk to Utrecht, Amsterdam Centraal and many others). The staff is very welcoming. The property looks a lot like a 4-star hotel, with several floors, large hallways and room access cards. There is a common kitchen room, a place to enjoy breakfast and / or snack and food vending machines. It is possible to choose the type of room: private (2 to 4 beds it seems to me with bathroom and toilet in the room) or dormitory (6 to 10 beds I think), reserved for women or men only or mixed. I was in a room for girls of 4 beds, with bathroom and toilet. Very clean, spacious, well attended, with secure personal lockers available under the bed, TV, hairdryer in the bathroom, night stand, personal electrical outlet, sheets and towels. Possibility to leave your suitcase in a secure locker all day on the first floor for 8 € if you do not feel confident with the people in your room. Only downside: the only washing machine and dryer in the common kitchen, not great. I recommend !

We had a very pleasant time at this hostel. Room very well equipped, there is nothing missing in the room And in addition they are super convenient. Cleanliness at the top. The very convenient location with 1min from the hostel: train station, metro, tram and bus. Bike rental on site. A shared kitchen. Very pretty hostel. Only two points to improve: the breakfast a bit too basic and the underground parking a bit too expensive. The reception and the staff available and very pleasant. If I have to go back to this place again, no doubt.

We had booked 4 beds in a room and the total amount was 195 euros on the app but they took 203 euros. The hotel people said it was some state tax. We were allocated one room but it did not have mattresses on the beds so we went to the reception to complain. The receptionist was quite rude she said that now we will all get 3 beds in three different rooms as the 4th person was not there but we paid for all the 4 beds though. We were assigned three beds in three rooms we tried to request but she said come back the next day. We were there for two days so we adjusted as it was a new country we did not what to do next.

Staff rather friendly, price of the bar quite expensive, shared space big and nice

We (two female friends) spent 4 nights at the hostel and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the facilities (lobby, bar, rooms, bathroom). There is all the comforts of a hotel, except that you share your room with other people. It must be kept in mind that this is a youth hostel, which means being forgiving about each other's sleeping / waking / showering and respecting each other.

The hostel is located next to a metro station, allowing very fast access to the city center. Clean rooms, availability of lockers in room for storing personal effects. Very quiet, and the rooms are well soundproofed. The staff at the front desk is not smiling at all, but it seems that it is peculiar to the Dutch. Hostel to book when staying with friends.

There is a supermarket and train station next to it, and it is very convenient to buy food. There are kitchens that offer hot food and more.

Very welcome, spacious and clean spaces. Impersonal hostel because very large. Too bad to pay more a locker to pack his bags while waiting for the room!
