Deserves a big facelift. In the bedroom - no coat/jacket rack in the room, we didn't even know where to dry our towels - walls in poor condition (stickers and signs of wear) - very dirty windows - curtains not blackout at all - very dirty bedside tables - very bright LED bedside lamps (cold white for the bulbs) = impossible not to wake up the whole room by lighting a simple small lamp In the bathroom: - not enough clothes/towel racks - door full of mold due to humidity - poor ventilation = very bad odors Entrance staircase: - strong cigarette smell Neighborhood : - the rooms overlook the street. A lively street, of course, but it's the drunken customers of the DE L'AUBERGE-MÊME bar who make the most noise. even with earplugs we could hear them.

In addition to a comfortable room, we took advantage of the restaurant (excellent value for money) and the atmosphere of the bar :) Very friendly and helpful staff, perfect place to meet travelers from various backgrounds!

we spent 2 nights in this hostel, it was great! the staff is adorable and available, the hostel bar is very nice, the rooms and bathrooms are clean and quiet at night.

Located next to the Red Light District, the atmosphere of the hostel-bar is aimed at those who want to party in the evening. We enter a bar before being able to access the dormitories. Despite the concern on the first day, there is good sound insulation between the bar and the rooms. And the bar is a place where even Amsterdammers come to enjoy.

We had a great stay. The hostel is super nice, there is a good atmosphere in the bar or restaurant. The bedroom and bathroom were clean. Nothing to say ! The hostel is really well placed. We were able to do everything on foot, restaurant, museum, shopping, coffee.

I recommend this hostel for holidays between young people! The staff is really cool and pleasant, very family atmosphere! The premises are top notch: private bathrooms in the dormitories, restaurant... Breakfast included in the price, really practical!

Super nice welcome! And the staff is available 24 hours a day! Very well placed! Quiet at night! (And thank you again to the cleaning ladies who even folded up our clothes;)) Breakfast at € 5: a plate with two rolls, cheese, ham, small pots of butter and jam, tomato, cucumber and 1/2 banana.

We had a really good time in this hostel!! The staff is really nice and helpful. Good location, near to the tramway and many good places to visit and to eat/drink. Go there!!

We booked a whole room for the 5 of us, and it was a very good surprise: it's very well located yet not too noisy, the price is very reasonable and there is a convenient bar/restaurant downstairs. People are generally young.

This hostel is at the top! In a really nice and lively neighborhood, no insecurity and not too noisy. Rooms modest but sufficient. Very original with their tags or unique paintings. Bathrooms may be a little small all the same. Bar at the entrance with interesting rates until midnight. A nightclub next door that I have not tested. Breakfast quite complete and very nice when you can enjoy the terrace. Bike rental shop 2 min. A bit expensive but it's still Amsterdam. In short, I recommend to be in the heart of the city and enjoy the atmosphere in a nice atmosphere.

The hostel is extremely nice. With available terrace, restaurant / bar, the rooms are extremely well soundproofed and comfortable. Chests under the bed that, if you bring a lock, can be locked (they contain a suitcase), and free breakfast if you booked from their website: otherwise, four euro per person but it's cheap for the quality. In the city center. I fully recommend!

I've stayed at this hostel before and they always deliver. The entire staff is very friendly, attentive and helpful. The location is perfect. Just a few steps from Dam Square and right in the middle of the Red Light District. Also, plenty of coffeeshops, restaurants and shopping boutiques all around. This hostel is also very clean and safe. The bar/restaurant in the lobby are fun and the food/drinks are reasonably priced with specials almost everyday. The complimentary breakfast every morning is also great. Thanks guys for a great stay.

The hostel is located in the red light district so is great for travellers wanting a night out like us but not for people who want an early night (people are loud outside until around 4am). The included breakfast had everything you would want and helped save money.

The hostel was so close to absolutely everything. It is a two minute walk to Dam Square and about 5 minute walk to the Red Light District. We were able to walk everywhere during our stay at the hostel, we did not use public transport once during the stay. The hostel itself is also very good in terms of their facilities. In the bedrooms we were provided with a fan, a hairdryer and hair straighteners. The rooms are extremely spacious so you don't feel cramped with people you don't know. They also offer 25% off food and drink for the duration of the stay. The bar is lovely and the staff are very friendly. They also have a lot of free vouchers at reception offering discounts on different things to do around Amsterdam.

Amazing place! Great vibe, great food (I can highly recommend their potatoe wedges!), friendly staff, comfortable, clean beds in small dorms with a massive vault for storing personal items (I managed to squeeze 2 small trolley bags into one), good safety protocols, one of the best free buffet breakfast's I've seen around... and I haven't even mentioned the location yet. It's just 2 min away from Amsterdam Central Station, right next to the Dam Square (For reference: I'm actually from Amsterdam myself, but emigrated abroad, after having visited some 500+ hostels on numerous trips around the world; but this one definitely won a top 25 spot!)

The location is great, right in the middle of the action, and only 5 or less min walk from Amsterdam central station. The staff are very helpful. The rooms are very tidy, cleaners come every morning to clean the rooms, I will definitely stay at this hostel again if I visit Amsterdam.
